Don’t be a follower: learn how to remove followers on Spotify

If you’re sick of seeing the same people in your “following” list on Spotify, it’s time to take action and remove some of them!

In this article, we’ll show you how to quickly and easily remove any unwanted followers from your account.

What is Spotify and how does it work

Spotify is a music streaming service that gives users access to millions of songs, podcasts, and videos from artists all over the world. It’s available in over 50 countries and has been growing in popularity since it was first launched in 2008.

To use Spotify, you’ll need to create an account and download the Spotify app. Once you’ve done this, you can start following other users and artists to build up your own personalised music library. If you’re not happy with the people who are following you on Spotify, or if you just want to clean up your list of followers, it’s easy to remove them.

What are followers on Spotify and how do they work

When you follow someone on Spotify, their activity will show up in your “Home” feed. You’ll also be able to see what new music they’re listening to and add it to your own library if you want.

If you don’t want certain people to see your activity or have access to your music, you can remove them as followers at any time.

how to remove followers on spotify

Removing followers on Spotify is a quick and easy process. Just follow these steps:

  • Open the Spotify app and log in to your account.
  • Click on the “Profile” tab in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
  • Scroll down to the “Followers” section and click on the “Edit Profile” button.
  • In the “Edit Profile” menu, scroll down to the “People Who Can Follow Me” section and select the “Only People I Approve” option.
  • Click on the “Done” button to save your changes.

Now, only people who you approve will be able to follow you on Spotify. If someone tries to follow you and you don’t want them to, just click the “Block” button next to their name. Blocking someone on Spotify will prevent them from following you, viewing your activity, or adding your music to their library.

How to make your profile private

If you want to take things a step further and make your profile completely private, you can do that too.

  • Next to the “People Who Can See My Playback History” section, select the “Only Me” option.
  • Click on the “Done” button to save your changes.

Now, only people who you approve will be able to follow you on Spotify, and only you will be able to see your playback history. This is a great way to make sure that your music listening is completely private and that only the people you want to follow you can do so.

How much does it cost to have a premium account on Spotify

If you want to remove ads, have access to higher quality audio, and listen to music offline, you’ll need a premium account. Spotify offers two different types of premium accounts: individual and family. An individual premium account costs $9.99/month and a family premium account (which can be used by up to 6 people) costs $14.99/month. There is also a student discount available that gives you 50% off an individual premium account.

To upgrade to a premium account, just click on the “Premium” tab in the Spotify app and follow the prompts. You can also sign up for a free trial of Spotify Premium if you want to try it out before you commit to a monthly subscription. Spotify offers a lot of great features for both free and premium users.
