What is Bitcoin

Bitcoin is a form of currency that was formed in 2008. It allows peer-to-peer transactions without banks or governments involved. It uses a public database that is called blockchain.

You can be assured that Bitcoin is secure and transparent. Many people use this form of currency every day. It has gained popularity since its beginning in 2008.

You can buy and sell Bitcoin, as well. You can sell Bitcoin in Canada easily using a simple transfer. Of course, you must have it in order to sell it.

This article will tell you how to sell Bitcoin. It will give you some information that you might need. You can also do more research to find the information you need.

How to Sell Bitcoin

Choose a Reputable Exchange – This seems to be something everyone should know, but it is important. There are still many people who get scammed everyday with Bitcoin. There is often the lure of making more money than you think its worth.

You don’t want to be taken advantage of, so be careful with who you use. Don’t be caught up in a scam because you want to do something quickly. Avoid emails and text messages that encourage you to sell your Bitcoin.

Keep it in a Secure Wallet – There are two different types of wallets for your BTC, hot and cold. The most common is the hot wallet that is used in everyday exchanges. A cold wallet is one that is used like hardware wallets and paper wallets.

Don’t Share Private Keys – A private key is your access to your cryptocurrency. Anyone that has these keys has access to your BTC. They are similar to your PIN numbers for ATMs, so keep them private and don’t share them.

You wouldn’t share your PIN numbers with anyone, so don’t share your private keys. Sharing this information can be an easy way for you to lose all your Bitcoin. You don’t want to lose any, so keep it private.

Use Two Factor Authentication, or 2FA – Most exchanges have this option – if yours doesn’t consider changing exchanges. 2FA provides more security for you and your BTC. This provides an extra layer of security that checks through email, authenticator app, or text messages.

Watch for Phishing Scams – This is the most common way of losing your Bitcoin. The scammers will usually send you an email or text that looks like they are legitimate, and these will have embedded links for you to click on. These links request your information such as passwords and wallets that will steal your Bitcoin.

You Should Only Sell to Trusted Buyers – If you don’t want to use an exchange or off-ramp services, you will probably use P2P services. See here. A P2P service is popular in places such as Nigeria because they are not as regulated as other places. Be careful who you are using so you don’t get scammed.

There are emails and text messages that you receive that will try to get you to sell your BTC. These are almost always scams and you will lose your BTC. Sell only to trusted buyers.

Use a Strong Password that You Don’t Use for Anything Else – Just like with any other monetary transactions, you need to have a strong, secure password. You don’t want to use this password for anything else. The more secure it is, the less likely it will be for it to be compromised.

Withdraw Money Immediately – You need to move quickly once you have decided to withdraw your money. You need to have it sent directly to your bank account to avoid scams and phishing. There is a setting that you can use to have it sent directly to your bank account.

Keep Devices Up-To-Date – There are more shields against attacks with newer devices. You need to regularly update your devices to make sure that the latest shields are on them. These patches usually have stronger security on them that protects you against malware and phishing attacks.

Be Aware of All the Risks – You need to be aware of all the risks before selling your BTC so that you aren’t scammed in any way. If you are aware of the risks, you can better avoid them. Be careful and you will be able to sell your Bitcoin without any problems.

Conclusion

If you are thinking about selling your Bitcoin, you need to be careful. There are scams out there that will take advantage of you if you are not careful. You want all the money that is coming to you, so don’t share passwords with anyone and only go through trusted buyers.

Be aware of all the risks that are out there so that you aren’t scammed. Keep your devices up to date so all the newest security patches will be on them. If you follow all the advice, you should be safe.
